About Jelum
Jelum has had experience supporting individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life.
In 2018, Jelum worked with the Children's Aid Society in Toronto to implement the Healthy Teens Project for at-risk families and youth. She also worked as a Crisis Counsellor at the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre, where she became skilled at de-escalating individuals experiencing very intense emotions. These experiences have allowed Jelum to take a trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive approach in her work.

Jelum also has experience working within the COMPASS program for the York Region District School Board and York Region Catholic District School Board. The program is designed to support elementary-aged children who require counselling and support to address social, emotional and behavioural concerns.

Jelum is passionate about mentoring and leading others, especially other psychotherapists. She truly believes in the mind-body-spirit connection, and approaches mental health with the understanding that while chronic stress and trauma impact us deeply, our mind and bodies also have the innate capacity and resiliency to heal when given the right support.
